About the role

We are seeking an experienced and talented Planview & PMO Expert Consultant to help our team for a 6 to 12 month consultancy position with a potential (but not guaranteed) longer term role. Our team builds cutting edge technology making a direct impact in the energy industry. This is a remote position delivering meaningful, impactful, international work. The core work is based around the US Eastern Time Zone and the primary teams being in the US and Europe.

The ideal candidate will have deep, extensive Planview and Project Management Office (PMO) expertise and a proven track record of consulting and training organizations around these areas is desired. An ideal candidate would also show a history of successfully managing and delivering complex projects on time and within budget in a multinational organization with a strong PMO governance experience. Previous experience as a senior project manager, responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and delivery of high-priority projects is desirable. This includes working closely with cross-functional teams to define project scope and objectives, create project plans, and manage resources and budgets. Ideally based in US, preferably close to the Atlanta area, we will consider candidates from Eastern US or Europe who can accommodate the Eastern Timezone and are willing to travel a few times during the course of the contract, probably to Europe 1 - 2 times.

To be successful in this role, you must have a deep understanding of Planview and how to leverage its features and capabilities to drive project success. You should also have excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams to achieve project goals.

Key responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of complex high-priority projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget
  • Develop project plans, including defining project scope, objectives, and deliverables, and managing resources and budgets
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure project success, including coordinating tasks and activities and providing guidance and support
  • Use Planview to manage projects, including setting up and tracking project schedules, budgets, and resources, and reporting on project progress
  • Communicate project status and progress to stakeholders, including senior management, and escalate any issues or challenges that may impact project success
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with project stakeholders, including clients, vendors, and internal teams
  • Identify and resolve any project-related issues or challenges, and develop contingency plans as needed
  • Give guidance on creating professional WBS for L+G project types
  • Training and coaching internal team members
  • Ensuring effective change management across the organization

Ideal experience

  • 5+ years of experience as a Project Manager, with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects on time and within budget
  • Expertise in Planview, including the ability to leverage its features and capabilities to manage and deliver projects
  • Experience as a Planview Power User
  • Understanding of the Planview data model and functionality
  • Work and resource management expertise under Planview
  • Solid understanding of ccustom views and reports of projects in Planview
  • Knowledge about Planview Progression Engine
  • PMO, PjM Process Framework knowledge
  • Knowledge about "gold standard" for basic process/ PMO framework settings and definitions (such as handling of country specific calendars)
  • Strong communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide teams to achieve project goals
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field, such as business administration or project management
  • PMP certification (preferred)
